What Can Professional Oral Surgery Do for You in St. Clair Shores?
The Benefits of Oral Surgery
Oral surgery isnโt just about removing teethโitโs about improving your overall oral health, comfort, and quality of life. Whether you need a simple extraction or a more advanced surgical procedure, there are many benefits to choosing professional oral surgery when itโs recommended. Here are some of the key advantages:
Relief from Pain and Discomfort Many oral surgery procedures, such as wisdom teeth removal or extraction of damaged teeth, help eliminate pain caused by tooth decay, infection, or overcrowding. Surgery can quickly relieve discomfort and prevent ongoing dental issues.
Protection of Surrounding Teeth and Gums When problem teeth are removed or corrected surgically, it helps protect your other teeth and gum tissue from damage, shifting, or infection. Oral surgery can prevent long-term dental problems that might otherwise require more complex treatments.
Improved Oral Function Oral surgery can improve your ability to chew, speak, and smile comfortably. Whether youโre removing impacted teeth or preparing your mouth for restorative treatments, surgery plays an important role in supporting your overall dental function.
Prevents Future Dental Issues By addressing dental concerns early with oral surgery, you can prevent more serious complications down the road. Removing impacted or severely damaged teeth, for example, helps avoid infections, cysts, or damage to surrounding teeth and bone.
Supports Long-Term Oral Health Oral surgery often creates a healthier foundation for future dental treatments, such as dental implants, dentures, or orthodontics. It ensures your mouth is in the best possible condition moving forward.
Boosted Confidence and Quality of Life Living with dental pain, infection, or damaged teeth can affect your confidence and daily life. Oral surgery can restore your comfort, improve your appearance, and give you back the freedom to smile, eat, and speak without worry.
Safe and Professional Care Choosing a trusted, experienced dental team ensures your surgery is performed safely, using advanced techniques and modern technology to minimize discomfort and recovery time.
At Clairpointe Family Dental, our goal is to make the oral surgery process as smooth and stress-free as possibleโhelping you achieve a healthier, more comfortable smile that lasts.

Oral surgery refers to surgical procedures performed on the teeth, gums, jaws, or other areas of the mouth. Common types include tooth extractions, wisdom teeth removal, dental implant placement, and corrective jaw surgery.
Oral surgery may be recommended when a tooth is severely damaged, infected, impacted, or causing overcrowding. It can also be necessary to prepare your mouth for other dental treatments, like implants or orthodontics.
We use advanced techniques and local anesthesia to ensure your comfort during the procedure. You may experience some mild soreness or swelling after surgery, but this typically goes away within a few days. Weโll provide instructions and tips to help manage discomfort during recovery.
Recovery time varies depending on the type of surgery, but most patients feel back to normal within a few days to a week. Weโll provide detailed aftercare instructions and check in with you to ensure proper healing.
After surgery, youโll want to stick to soft foods like yogurt, smoothies, mashed potatoes, or soup. Avoid hard, crunchy, or spicy foods until your mouth has healed.
As with any surgical procedure, there are small risks such as infection, bleeding, or delayed healing. Choosing a professional, experienced dental team greatly reduces these risks and ensures a smooth recovery.

I drive over an hour just to see Dr. Reem, and she is absolutely worth it. She is by far the best dentist I have ever had. I used to have a lot of anxiety about going to the dentist, but from my very first visit she made me feel completely comfortable and at ease. Dr. Reem is incredibly welcoming, kind, patient, and genuinely caring. She takes the time to explain everything thoroughly, answers all of my questions, and never makes me feel rushed.<br><br>Her professionalism and attention to detail are unmatched, and you can tell she truly cares about her patients and their experience. The entire staff is friendly and accommodating, which makes every visit even better. Thanks to Dr. Reem, going to the dentist is no longer something I dread. I honestly cannot recommend her enough to anyone looking for a compassionate, skilled, and trustworthy dentist.
Amazing dentist. I hate the dentist and everyone here knows it. I have really bad anxiety and they are so sweet and stay calm with me. Plus i get gassed ๐. Highly recommend
Nice clean place , friendly staff , pricing is competitive. Dr Neena did my first visit , very friendly and professional making sure I was comfortable. I needed a cleaning but the hygienist is many months out , so Dr Neena had some spare time and did my cleaning also. I would most definitely recommend this facility to anyone I know.
Dr.Rita and assoc. and staff are professional, kind and courteous. They are extremely helpful with scheduling and take all precautions to keep you and themselves safe. Love Lindsay the dental hygienist. When going for a cleaning it like catching up with old friends. Highly recommend Clairpointe Family Dental
My mother had her first appointment with Dr. Gehlert and her staff today. She is pleased with her experience and how kind everyone was to her. She looks forward to her future visits.
I have had strong concerns about finding a new dentist. Had my first appointment with Dr. Gehlert today. Could not have been more satisfied with my entire experience. The office is professional, but friendly. I have some knowledge of dentistry and was completely impressed with everyone in the office and the office environment.<br>I am so relieved to think I have found a new dentist in an office that I feel confident with.
I had a very good experience that Clairpointe Family Dental! I am new to the area and did not yet established with a dentist until I had a problem. The staff over the phone were very kind and were able to get me in right away, before a holiday weekend. I did not have any long wait times when I got to the office. The staff and the doctor were extremely friendly for my whole visit. This was an excellent experience and I would recommend this to any new patient looking for a dentist to establish with!
I recently transferred to Clairpointe at the recommendation of a friend and could not be more pleased. I have severe dental anxiety and their entire team has been so welcoming and supportive. Wish I had made the move a few years ago.
Iโve been bringing my almost 11 year old since she was a baby and my 6 year old twins since they were babies. Lindsey has encouraged it from the beginning and because of this, my kids have all been successfully getting their teeth cleaned since they were 2!!! She lets them hold and use the water tool and sucker tool (not sure of proper names, sorry!) themselves and gives the tools silly names, so they happily sit there and let her do her thing! They have never shed a tear or asked not to go to the dentist. They have no fear of dentist appts thanks to her! All the staff are very friendly, patient, and gentle when interacting with my kids and myself. They give compliments to boost their self esteem. I drive 40 minutes to come to this office when there are more than 5 dentist offices within 5 minutes of my house. This office is the best!!!
It's always a pleasure going to the dentist when you have so many nice people working there ! I have been going there so long I think of all of you as friends. Thank you for always caring and knowing just what to do to keep me calm. ๐
My experience is always 100% satisfaction !<br>Gilda, Dr. Rita and Cherie are not only professionals, they are kind and caring people who give their best all the time.<br>Thank you for gentle , professional and caring dental service. I love you all๐

I experienced dental cleaning today from Jill at Clairpointe.<br>The office had a water shut off but Jill still did the job. I arrived early to see if I could get to another appointment i had, (my error). I was able to my other appointment and am grateful to Clairpointe. My teeth feel fabulous!
I used Microsoft Copilot to help me find a new dentist office after mine of 30+ years was acquired by a corporation and underwent too many changes that dissatisfied me. Clairpointe was the perfect landing spot for me. Clean, efficient environment with a very friendly and supportive staff. The amusing part about this place is that everyone has a beautiful smile. ๐
My husband and I have been patients of this dental practice for over 20 years. We have had general cleanings, fillings, night guards and bridge work completed. It can be difficult to find a dental practice which you trust and that make you feel at ease. The Clairpointe staff from front and back office to clinical staff are friendly, efficient, trustworthy and excellent at their jobs. I couldn't imagine going anywhere else!
Nobody likes to go to the dentist... But if you get a great dentist it makes it much easier, Dr Gehlert at Clairpoint Dental in St Clair Shores is the very best. The staff is so caring and efficient. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Thank You all for your caring expertise over the years, I truly appreciate all you have done for me! Joyce Zube
Professional, friendly, caring, and compassionate staff, assistants, hygienists and doctors! I continue to use Clairpointe Family Dental for my dental exams and dental needs even though I now live 3.5 hours away.
This is my place "not literally." I am 37 years old. Been coming here my whole life, my mom was a patient before I was born. These days, I live an hour away and still make the drive in for myself, wife and kids anytime one of us needs their services. Not only out of habit, but because they are good honest people. From the first second you walk in the door until you walk back out, you will be taken care of. If you are a personable character and enjoy human interaction, this is the place for you. If you happen to check clairpointe family dental out after reading this review, tell them I sent you ๐
My experience with Clairpointe is that it's always been "Pain Free"<br>and I appreciate that (thank you). It's almost fun going to an appointment. <chuckle>
